Slavonic Dance No. 8 is a particularly vibrant and brilliant work among Dvořák's rich collection of folk-inspired dances.
It uses a Czech dance form called Furiant, characterized by its fast tempo and changing time signatures.

The piece begins with energetic, sharp rhythms and a leaping melody, immediately captivating the listener.
The middle section offers a temporary shift to a calmer atmosphere, creating a dynamic contrast in the composition.
The finale accelerates in tempo once again, concluding with a flourish.

Due to its repetitive nature, it can be shortened to approximately 2 minutes through cuts.
