Vintage Japanese Speckled Stoneware Bowl Blue Poppy Peony Floral Scalloped Rim
This vintage Japanese stoneware bowl brings a charming mid-century aesthetic to your table or collection. It features a lovely blue peony/poppy floral design in the center, accented with muted green leaves and a smaller flower bud. The bowl is crafted from a heavy cream-colored ceramic body with a beautiful brown speckled glaze finish, and it is framed by a distinct scalloped, textured rim highlighted with dark brown trim. The bottom is stamped with a simple, blue JAPAN maker's mark, characteristic of quality retro imports from the 1970s and 1980s. 7 1/4 diameter and 2 tall Good vintage condition. Shows minor rim color thinning/glaze skips on the scalloped edge, a small under-glaze bump on the outside near rim, and a textured patch of thinned glaze on the underside. No major cracks or chips. The shape makes it incredibly versatile, serving perfectly as a soup, cereal, salad, or pasta bowl, or as a decorative accent!
